NEH and Passguard protect housing associations against infostealers

NEH and Passguard have entered into a partnership to help Dutch housing associations better defend themselves against the growing threat of infostealers. This type of malware steals employee login credentials, which are then traded on criminal marketplaces. By offering Passguard as part of its security services, NEH helps housing associations proactively prevent data breaches and cyberattacks.
NEH, a managed service provider (MSP) and IT partner for housing associations, is adding Passguard’s technology to its security portfolio. According to Arno van Rijn, CISO at NEH, this is an important addition:
“With a traditional security approach, you remain blind to this risk. Passguard helps us close that gap.”
Passguard is a Dutch dark web monitoring platform that detects stolen credentials and other exposed data on criminal marketplaces and within leaked datasets. CEO Tom Leijte explains:
“If you only monitor endpoints and networks, you miss what is happening in criminal environments. We make that threat visible, enabling organizations to respond faster.”
Through this partnership, NEH can take action more quickly when new infostealer infections are detected, before stolen accounts are abused. This includes measures such as resetting compromised accounts, enforcing additional security controls, and cleaning infected devices.
According to Leijte, the threat is broader than many organizations realize:
“Infostealers do not only target large enterprises. Smaller organizations are equally vulnerable and can become victims of account compromise and cyberattacks as a result. Housing associations deserve protection against this emerging risk.”
Van Rijn adds:
“Passguard has been successfully monitoring our own environments for years. We know their approach inside and out, and we are proud to offer our customers an additional layer of security through their platform.”
The fact that Passguard is a Dutch company is also important to NEH. Van Rijn explains:
“NEH considers digital sovereignty a serious issue for the housing association sector. Wherever possible, we work with European partners, and with Dutch partners when it makes sense. With Passguard, those priorities come together.”
